The Shatter

The Shatter is the reality parallel to Reality. It is, by nature, less grounded than Reality, with a baseline Rin measurement of 4.64Rn. Rn fluctuates heavily throughout The Shatter, with the lowest recorded measurement of 0.04Rn taken near the center of Zephyr's Garden and the highest recorded measurement of 14.58Rn on the outskirts of The Gap in the Shattered Forest.

Espial Lines

Espial lines are naturally occurring lines within The Shatter along which Rin readings are lowest. The further one is from an espial line, the higher the local Rin baseline will be. There are many different espial lines, some stronger than others, and the lines will slowly drift over centuries of time.

Espial Crossings

Espial crossings are locations in The Shatter where two espial lines cross over each other, creating a hypocenter.

Hypocenters

Hypocenters are points within The Shatter where the local Rin baseline drops to near-Reality levels, resulting in a section of relatively well-grounded space within The Shatter. They are most commonly, but not always, caused by espial crossings, with multiple crossings within a short distance of each other creating larger hypocenters.
